How to Care for a Sterling Silver Ring

Sterling silver first came to light in the 13th century, and ever since then, it has become an incredibly popular alternative to pure silver. Today, you can find sterling silver jewelry just about anywhere. After all, it looks just as good as real silver, and it is only a fraction of the price.

If you have a sterling silver ring, you might be wondering how to care for it. Do you have to care for it in the same way as pure silver, or are there certain things you need to do to make sure it stays in good shape? Keep reading and learn more about how to care for sterling silver.

Clean Your Sterling Silver Ring When Necessary

Swarovski Crystal Knot Ring

It is not necessary to clean your sterling silver jewelry all the time. In fact, cleaning sterling silver too often can end up ruining it. Instead, you will only want to clean your ring when you see that it is starting to collect debris or when it seems to be getting a bit tarnished.

If you clean it more often than necessary, you will actually end up removing a little bit of the silver each time. This can decrease some of the decorations the silver might have. Fortunately, cleaning sterling silver is quite easy.

If your sterling silver ring has a serious layer of tarnish on it, it will be a good idea to gently clean the ring with a mixture of baking soda and water. Baking soda is an abrasive substance. Even though it looks like a soft white powder, it is actually made up of many small and very hard particles.

The Details

When you mix baking soda with water, a paste will come together. Apply this paste to a soft piece of cloth and buff it on the surface of your sterling silver ring. The baking soda will scrape off the tarnished layer as well as any debris that may have gotten caught on the ring.

If the ring is not tarnished, then you won't need to go through all this trouble. Instead, all you need to do is use some soap and warm water to rinse off the ring and make sure there is no debris stuck to it. After you're done cleaning the ring, don't forget to polish it.

There are polishes you can buy that are specifically designed to treat sterling silver. These polishes will give your jewelry a particular shine that will also protect the surface of the silver.

Keep Your Ring Out of Direct Sunlight

wehoautodetail Mother of Pearl Signet Ring

The sun's UV rays are known to be quite potent and harmful to a variety of things. The sun can do everything from strip the clear coat off of a vehicle to give you a sunburn and more. The sun can also damage your sterling silver jewelry if you're not careful.

The way the sun damages silver is by breaking it apart on a molecular level. Of course, leaving your ring in the sun once in a while and for short periods of time won't really do anything. However, if you happen to leave your ring out where it is exposed to the sun most of the time, you will eventually start to notice signs of damage.

In particular, excessive sun exposure will make your ring tarnish at a faster rate. Silver tarnishing happens when sterling silver is exposed to excess oxygen and sunlight. While there isn't much you can do about its exposure to oxygen, you can keep your jewelry out of the sunlight.

What You Need to Know

Make sure that you don't store your ring in sunny locations such as on a windowsill. Also, if you plan on spending a day out in the sun or going to the beach, it is best to leave your sterling silver ring at home. While you can clean the tarnish off if it happens to develop, it is always best to try and prevent it from tarnishing in the first place.

This is because repeated tarnishing and cleaning can eventually wear down the surface of your ring. This will cause your ring to look faded and old, and it will wear down whatever decorations it may have on its surface.

Take Off Your Ring When Doing Chores

Blue Mystic Quartz Ring in Sterling Silver with White Topaz Halo

Wearing your ring often is actually good for it since your natural skin oils will keep the silver shiny. However, there are certain things you should take your ring off for. For example, if you have a lot of household chores ahead of you, you'll want to take off your ring.

This is because many different cleaning chemicals can damage the sterling silver. For example, if you happen to have cleaners that contain a lot of sulfur, you should keep your sterling silver away from them, as these particular cleaners will cause your silver to tarnish at an alarmingly fast rate. This is also true of chlorinated water.

Even your own sweat can cause your sterling silver ring to tarnish faster than usual. So, if you care about making sure your ring stays in good condition for as long as possible, you'll want to remove your ring before cleaning anything.

Caring for Your Sterling Silver Ring

wehoautodetail Open Heart Sterling Silver Ring

Caring for a sterling silver ring doesn't have to be difficult, but there are certain things you should consider. For one, you should clean your ring with soap and water or baking soda if it's tarnished. Also, protecting your ring from the sun and cleaning chemicals will also help.

How to Wear Multiple Rings At One Time

Research done in 2021 revealed that 56% of jewelry buyers were women. Revealing that more women are buying jewelry for themselves than men buying it for them.

Women are now buying themselves jewelry more than ever as they want to treat themselves. Good quality jewelry could last a very long time, giving you years of wear.

Rings are especially popular options as they are classy and timeless. Every woman should own a variety of rings that she can mix and match.

You can even wear several rings at once for a more unique look. This also allows you to get the most out of your rings so that you can enjoy them more often.

Keep reading to find out how to wear multiple rings at once while still looking sophisticated.

Buy Ring Sets

wehoautodetail Turquoise Stackable Sterling Silver Ring

Ring sets are by far the easiest way to wear multiple rings at once. These sets are usually designed to be worn together as they go well together.

This can help you to avoid the issues that come up when mixing rings together. So you don't have to worry about mixed metal or different gemstones.

Ring sets are usually designed to match each other and to fit well together. They are often more minimal and can be stacked seamlessly for that polished look.

If you love to wear several rings on one hand, these are a great option for you. Ring sets are also a great way to add versatile pieces to your jewelry collection.

Choose Simpler Rings

wehoautodetail Ocean Charm Set

When mixing rings, you are safer sticking to simpler ring designs. Though you may love your statement rings, they aren't always ideal for stacking.

Statement rings or more glamorous rings are going to stand out a bit too much. They will likely clash with the other rings on your hand, making everything look clunky.

It is best to stick to rings that are more minimal in design. Or that have a similar design that can be mixed and matched with other kinds of rings easily.

Mix Your Metals

wehoautodetail Mother of Pearl Signet Ring

When wearing multiple rings on one hand, the hardest thing is matching your metals. This is especially true if your rings come from different brands.

If you want to wear all gold rings, you should wear rings that have the same shade of gold. The same goes for silver rings, they should match if you are matching your metals.

Though you do not have to go to these lengths if you don't want to. Mixed metal rings are also a great idea and can give you a unique edge.

Plenty of people mix their metals to create a unique look that is all their own. Doing this can also help you to avoid the hassle of trying to match your rings exactly.

Choose Stackable Rings

Freshwater Pearl Hoop Earrings

If you don't have ring sets, the easiest alternative is to buy stackable rings. These kinds of rings are designed to be worn with other rings for a polished look.

Stackable rings are usually more delicate and don't have pieces that stick out too far. They can be layered with other rings without looking clunky or fitting awkwardly on your fingers.

These kinds of rings are very common and can be worn on their own just as easily as stacked. They are beautiful and delicate, creating an elegant look that sets you apart.

Limit Gemstone Rings

wehoautodetail Freshwater Pearl Stackable Sterling Silver Ring

While gemstone rings are beautiful, they may not always be ideal for stacking. These rings should be used minimally when you are wearing multiple rings on one hand.

If you want to wear gemstone rings with other rings, you should only have one or two. One or two minimal gemstone rings will look beautiful without clashing.

You should choose gemstones that are like colors or even the same color for a more cohesive look. They can often be paired with gold or silver rings, depending on the gemstone.

Choose the Right Fingers

Sterling Silver Oval Locket

Each finger can represent a different meaning when it comes to rings. Though most people don't worry too much about this when stacking their rings.

You can wear rings on any finger that you like, though some will look better than others. It is often best to wear the most rings on your longest fingers.

You should also avoid wearing rings on your thumb finger as this is not very classy looking. Shorter fingers should also have fewer rings to avoid them looking crowded.

Match Them With Your Outfit

wehoautodetail Open Heart Sterling Silver Ring

When wearing several rings, you should consider your entire outfit. Will the rings that you want to wear go with the outfit that you are wearing?

Are you dressing more sophisticated, or is it a more casual day? These kinds of details matter when you are picking out your rings.

This is important as jewelry may not go with just any kind of clothing. You don't want to pair more casual pieces with a glamorous gown.

That is why it is a good idea to invest in timeless pieces that look sophisticated no matter what. So you won't have to worry about your rings looking too casual.

Keeping up with the yearly trends can help you find your style and participate in a world of fun fashion. Trendy jewelry is a great way to spice up your wardrobe and can make you look clean and expensive.

What's more, you'll elevate your daily outfits to something glamorous.

Keep reading to find out what jewelry styles are trending this year and how to style them.

Trendy Jewelry 2022

Gold Paperclip + Sun and Moon Pendant

While fashion trends come and go, many of this year's types of jewelry are timeless and can be incorporated into your daily wardrobe to create a fashion statement.

What are some of the jewelry fashion trends of 2022? There are plenty of fun trends for you to partake in this year. Many runways are showing off big, chunky jewelry. This includes chunky bracelets, cuffs, earrings, and statement necklaces. Layering chunky bracelets and cuffs is another trend that's been popular this year.

Pearls and crystals are popular this year—a reminder that classic jewelry will always be in style.

It's easy to incorporate these gemstones into your jewelry and wardrobe. Pearl earrings and necklaces are taking center stage. No matter their size or color, they've been seen on the runway this year by some of the most famous fashion designers.

Crystals are a big statement, and they're a timeless statement to make.

Following the bold and big style of this year, crystal or gemstone pieces that stand out are extremely trendy right now. Chandelier-style earrings and bold crystal necklaces are the perfect pieces to wear to partake in this jewelry trend.

Following the chandelier-style earrings, fringe is also making a comeback on the runways. Any earrings or necklaces that mimic the movement and style of fringe have made an appearance this year as a popular trend. Having jewelry pieces that move with you can make you look and feel your best.

Floral has been a popular jewelry trend this year. It's made a big statement in fall fashion. Floral earrings, necklaces, and brooch pins are all ways to incorporate floral into your wardrobe. Just because summer is over doesn't mean that floral has to disappear.

Here are more 2022 jewelry trends we're seeing on the runway this year.

If you're looking to partake in some 2022 jewelry trends, be sure to spend your hard-earned money on quality jewelry. Below, we'll go over why quality matters.

Why Quality Jewelry Matters

Horseshoe Huggies

Taking part in jewelry trends is fun, but it's harder to enjoy it if you're worried about your jewelry breaking or not being able to withstand certain conditions when wearing it. Not to mention the pesky green tint on your skin that cheap jewelry often produces.

When considering buying jewelry, it's important to be on the lookout for good quality jewelry.

Quality jewelry is more durable. When your jewelry is made of durable metals and gemstones, you won't have to worry about your jewelry breaking. Quality jewelry is made with more care and with stronger materials.

The best part is—you don't have to break the bank to purchase quality jewelry. When you're shopping for good quality jewelry, it's important to understand what to avoid and what to look for.

For example, stray away from metals like nickel or brass. These are usually cheaper metals, can cause allergic reactions, and don't hold together as well as other metals. You want to find jewelry that's sterling silver or titanium, and if you'd like gold jewelry, look for pieces that have gold in them, not just brushed or plated.

Good quality jewelry can better withstand outside elements like weather.  You want to spend your hard-earned money on jewelry pieces that are going to compliment your style, without the hassle of having pieces break and fall apart while wearing them.

It's possible to find jewelry pieces that fit the fashion trends you love without breaking the bank. Always choose good quality jewelry to ensure your pieces will last.

Styling Tips

Raidiance 20-Strand Necklace

Understandably, you want to show your beautiful jewelry off. Here are some styling tips to help you look and feel your best while having your jewelry compliment your outfit.

Since this year's jewelry is all about being bold, don't be afraid to make a statement. Choose a large or chunky necklace to wear with a plain dress or blouse.

An important tip to remember is to create balance with your outfit. If you're going to wear a statement necklace, keep your other jewelry simple and small. Opt for smaller earrings and necklaces to keep your outfit balanced and to bring attention to your statement piece.

Don't be afraid to mix metals—it's becoming increasingly popular to wear gold and silver together. What once was a taboo jewelry rule is now a common trend.

Since chunky bracelets are back, stack a few chunky bracelets over a long-sleeved top to really show off your gorgeous bracelets. Be sure to create balance within the rest of your jewelry so the outfit doesn't look or feel too heavy.

Of course, everyone's style is different. The most important thing is that you should feel beautiful and confident in the jewelry that you buy. Don't be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone and try one of these trends! You may be surprised by what you create.

How to Wear Multiple Rings at Once: A Style Guide

Having the right rings can really complete your look. This guide has some of our best tips on how to wear multiple rings at once.

Keyword(s): how to wear multiple rings

Did you know that the luxury jewelry industry is worth over $21 billion?

It isn't hard to understand why. If you've got a bit of disposable income, there's no reason you shouldn't start wearing jewelry to match your lifestyle. Wearing rings, in particular, is a great way to show off your style.

But what about styling rings when you want to wear more than one at a time? There's a way to do it, and we're going to show you right here.

Keep reading to learn how to wear multiple rings.

Wear Two or Three Rings

Who says styling rings have to happen one finger at a time? Shake things up by wearing a few types of rings on the same finger.

Styling rings on the same finger looks best when they're made of the same metal. If you have a quirky style, though, feel free to mix and match metals like gold and silver.

The key to mixing metals is to make sure they balance each other out. It should make sense in the grand scheme of your outfit, including other jewelry.

If you really want to wear that rose gold ring with the rest of your gold jewelry, for example, throw on some rose gold earrings to tie the outfit together. It'll make more sense and will look more intentional.

Other than figuring out which color rings you want to style together, figure out the type of rings you want to wear. In other words, pair some chunky rings with delicate rings. Or, pair smooth rings with rings that have curves or textures.

Lastly, consider buying a few midi rings. These types of rings are worn above the higher joint of your finger.

Before you do that, you need to figure out your ring size. Your midi ring should be at least three sizes smaller than your regular ring size.

You may not want to wear multiple rings on your pinky finger, though. We suggest this because you won't have as much freedom to move, and your fingers might look too stubby.

Wear Multiple Rings on One Hand

Not a fan of wearing jewelry on the same finger? There are ways for styling rings that match your fashion sense.

Another way is wearing rings across all five fingers. Now that you've already played around with a few cute ring combinations, you'll need to select which fingers will wear the rings.

Here are a few finger and ring combinations that we recommend:

  • Pointer and ring finger
  • Thumb, pointer, and ring finger
  • Thumb and middle finger
  • Thumb and ring finger
  • Thumb, pointer finger, and middle finger
  • Middle finger and pinky
  • Thumb, pointer finger, and pinky

Notice that we don't include any combination of rings worn on adjacent fingers.

While you are certainly free to do so, the rings will likely chafe together and wear down over time. You may also find their proximity distracting as you go about your daily activities.

This is a bigger issue for thicker or chunkier rings. You may feel comfortable wearing rings next to each other if they are thin and dainty enough.

As for colors, we still recommend matching metals. Again, you can get a little wild or creative with it, but you don't want rings to subtract from your whole outfit.

Wear Multiple Rings on Both Hands

Now that you know how to wear multiple rings on one hand, let's talk about wearing rings on both hands. Generally speaking, the same rules apply.

However, our best tip is to not overdo it. Sometimes, less is more. Wearing six or ten rings across both hands may be fun, but it may undo what you're trying to accomplish with your whole look.

It may be okay for a casual, boho look, but if your aim is class and elegance, keep it simple. "Less is more" when it comes to wearing jewelry that emulates effortless beauty.

This is why it's also important to avoid cheap jewelry. A lot of cheap rings contain copper, which is the material that turns your fingers green.

This happens because the copper is coming into contact with either your skin, or traces of products on your skin. These may be soap, lotion, and other cosmetic products.

While there are methods of preventing this reaction, it's easier to shop for types of rings that contain higher quality materials. These include pure gold, pure silver, stainless steel, and platinum.

Unlike rings made of copper, they won't get discolored or wear out as easily.

Add Meaning

We've given you a few ideas on how to wear multiple rings, but there's more to it than simply layering the best rings from your collection. It goes even deeper than your style and personal preference.

Styling rings should tell a story about who you are. For example, you probably won't wear a ring on the fourth finger of your left hand if you're not married (although, you can if you want!).

Think too of birthstones. There's no rulebook that says you can only wear the birthstone from your birth month, but doing so will add extra meaning. There are also certain characteristics that correlate to each birthstone.

If you aren't sure about your birthstone or the qualities it represents, it's definitely worth looking into. It will also be a conversation starter for anyone who notices your ring!

How to Wear Multiple Rings

It's never too late to up your fashion game by investing in the best rings for your style. It's easy to get bored by wearing rings that you've had for a long time, or that don't match your aesthetic anymore.

Luckily, styling is simple when you have several types of rings to choose from. We hope this guide has been helpful in teaching you how to wear multiple rings at once.

Jewelry Trends 2021: What You Need to Know

Jewelry Trends 2021? Keep up with this year's fashion and style trends with this comprehensive guide. Don't get left in the dust; read to learn more.

Keyword(s): jewelry trends 2021

When it comes to fashion, your jewelry makes a statement above all else. That's why you want to make sure you're keeping up with all the latest jewelry trends.

From necklaces to anklets and rings, the hottest jewelry trends for 2021 are definitely on-point.

Read on to check out what you need to know about this year's style trends so that your jewelry is the star of the show.

Jewelry Trends 2021:

Statement Pieces

If you really want your jewelry to stand out, look for bold and brilliant statement pieces that will attract major attention. Statement jewelry is typically larger, brighter, and bolder than standard pieces you'd wear every day.

A chunky bracelet can add a ton of drama to almost anything you wear. Try a gorgeous, colorful bracelet accented with shimmering stones or pieces of abalone shell to add an instant standout to virtually every outfit you own.

Statement necklaces are back this year, too. You can also try an awesome, oversized pendant that shows off your personality and tells everyone exactly what you're about. Pendants can be worn with various chains so you can easily mix and match your looks.

Make sure to check out our collection of sterling silver pendants.

Cocktail rings are another one of the hottest jewelry trends of 2021. These dramatic rings are large, bold, and feature unique details and big stones in a rainbow of colors.

Bangle Bracelets

A fabulous bracelet can really amplify your look, and this year, bangles are coming out front and center. Unlike traditional bracelets with a clasp, these can be stacked together and easily slipped on and off your wrist.

Don't just wear one bangle bracelet unless you opt for a cuff style that tends to be much wider. Otherwise, make sure you wear several bangle bracelets stacked on your wrist for a multilayered effect.

If you prefer a more coordinated look, simply layer a few matching bangles so everything is cohesive. For those who like to bring the drama, consider wearing several bangle bracelets made of different materials and in different styles.

Chokers are Back

When it comes to fashion trends, it feels like everything comes full circle. This is definitely true for jewelry this year, particularly necklaces like the now-popular again choker.

Chokers are a hot trend this year, but these aren't your velvet ribbon chokers from the 90s. Today's chokers are much more refined and made of high-end materials like silver, gold, and precious stones.

If you're really aiming to be trendy, consider a choker necklace comprised of oversized chain links. These large, shiny links will bring visual drama to your ensemble, and they blend the boldness of statement jewelry with the trend of a choker in a seamless fashion.

Sparkly? Yes Please

2021 is your year to shine after the difficulties of 2020. Give your look a bold, on-trend touch with some ultra-sparkly jewelry pieces. Anything with filigree detail will bring a brilliant and bold touch to your favorite pendants, rings, and earrings.

You can add a brilliant shine to your fave clothing by choosing pieces made with stunning marcasite stones. These little sparklers add a brilliant aesthetic to your look and they shine brightly at every angle when the light hits.

Another easy way to add more sparkle to your look is with a bright cocktail ring featuring a huge stone in the center. The more facets the stone has, the brighter it will shine. Look for trending jewelry that incorporates as many stones as possible, or that uses the largest stone possible to make it stand out.

Shapely Designs

This year, you'll notice more jewelry that features fun shapes rather than simple abstract motifs. For example, a charm bracelet accented with an array of fun charms in different designs gives you endless possibilities to upgrade your look.

Instead of a pendant with a simple shape or a single stone, try something boasting a cute design in your favorite theme. A shimmering seahorse pendant is a fantastic choice if you love the ocean, or try a teardrop-shaped pendant if you just want to up the ante.

New styles of rings are also a fantastic way to add some personality to your outfits this year. Go for bolder rings that showcase fun themes like celestial, animals, or flowers. The key is to choose jewelry that says something about who you are in a more personal way.

Color is King

While gold and silver will always reign supreme, adding more color to jewelry is an on-trend option for 2021. Incorporate more color into your jewelry ensemble by choosing stones featured in hues of purple (like amethyst), or a rich Baltic amber.

Replace some of your metal chain necklaces with something comprised of colorful beads. Multicolored shells like abalone will easily add a ton of extra color to a favorite piece of jewelry.

Another hot colorful jewelry trend is enameled pendants, bracelets, and rings. Enameled jewelry adds a pop of color and will give anything you wear an extra dose of visual interest.

Stay On-Trend for 2021

Whether it's a statement piece or a choker necklace, try some of these jewelry trends for 2021 to make your outfit pop. Don't be afraid to go bold with a piece of statement jewelry or a fun ring or pendant featuring a unique shape or theme.

Adding new jewelry to your look is an easy way to help you stay on top of the latest style trends.

Lab Grown Diamonds: The Future?
As young people increasingly move away from natural diamonds, could lab grown diamonds be the future? Read more to find out.

Keyword(s): lab grown diamonds

Do you love jewelry? Are you one of the 73% of millennials who want to shop sustainably?

More and more shoppers are willing to pay a little more to ensure their high-quality pieces follow ethical practices.

Many jewels historically have a somewhat shady past. Conflict diamonds, stones that are mined using unethical practices; the industry has seen it all. Fortunately, times are changing. To both protect our planet and its people.

Astounding new technologies enable us to create stones in the laboratory. One of these miracle inventions is lab grown diamonds.

You may think this sounds like a strange concept; how can a naturally occurring stone be grown in a lab? However, these fascinating engineered stones are here to stay and have an array of remarkable properties.

Read on to find out why lab created diamonds are the future.

How Are Lab Grown Diamonds Made?

Diamonds formed deep in the earth billions of years ago and were brought to the earth's surface with the heat and pressure caused by volcanic explosions.

Lab created diamonds undergo a similar process. High pressure and high temperatures are used to replicate the same chemical processes natural diamonds go through. It just happens in a machine rather than on the earth.

For this reason, diamonds that are grown in a lab are chemically and physically identical to mined diamonds. You can't tell the difference to look at them either.

Lab diamonds start life as a seed. It then undergoes the process of making it into the beautiful stone we know and love. Due to the artificial process, the seed goes through, diamonds made in a lab are often referred to as synthetic diamonds.

How Are Lab Diamonds Graded?

Artificial diamonds are also graded in precisely the same way as mined diamonds. They are cut by experts and graded using the same quality criteria as mined diamonds.

They are rated using the 4 C's:

  • Carat
  • Cut
  • Color
  • Clarity

You would not be able to tell the difference between a mined diamond and a man-made one if you just looked at them.

Why Are Synthetic Diamonds the Future?

Diamond mining is notorious for being unsustainable, unethical, linked to child labor, as well as war and conflicts. Although the diamond industry has been cleaned up since the Kimberly Process Certification was introduced in 2003, it is sometimes difficult to trace a diamond's origin.

Many diamond dealers still can't tell you which mine their diamonds originate from. The Kimberly Process is hard to monitor, and many clean diamonds end up in the same shipments as those from less ethical origins.

If a diamond is grown in a lab, it is easy to trace and harms nobody. Let's take a more in-depth look at why consumers are starting to choose man-made diamonds.

They Are More Ethical

Even if a diamond claims to be conflict-free and not used to fund corrupt governments and warfare, we can never be entirely sure.

You also don't know if the workers who mine your natural diamond are paid fairly or treated humanely. Many countries where diamonds naturally occur don't have laws to ban child labor or enforce strict minimum wage or labor safety requirements.

Ethical diamonds are having a moment, and we won't ever go back to the dark days of unethical diamond extraction.

They Are More Environmentally Friendly

Mining diamonds also have a significant impact on the natural environment. Digging up the earth to extract a stone is not the most sustainable of practices after all. Hundreds of tonnes of earth need to move to find just one diamond.

This messes with local ecosystems and can end up displacing wildlife and communities. Local water sources can also end up polluted as a result of diamond mining. Minerals unearthed when the rocks are moved can run off into the water, causing it to become toxic.

The air miles that a mined diamond costs are also huge. They fly from origin to middle man, to cuter, to trader.

A lab grown diamond can be made in a few days and sold in the same city it is created. Further to this, a lot less energy is needed to create an artificial diamond. Thus, lab grown diamonds have a significantly lower carbon footprint.

Artificial Diamonds Are Less Expensive

Lab grown diamonds have the same properties and high quality as mined diamonds but a lower price tag.

Mined diamonds pass through many hands on their way to the store; each person involved takes a cut of the final price.

There are fewer people involved in creating a lab grown diamond which means fewer people who need paying. This, in turn, lowers the price for the end consumer.

Diamond Jewelry Is Always In Fashion

Ever since the 1940s, when diamonds became the height of fashion, they have been a staple in our jewelry boxes. We will continue to collect precious jewels for decades to come. They will be different from the jewels of the past.

Want to make a statement with your outfit? Say it with diamonds. Want to give a gift that lasts an eternity? Diamonds are perfect. They last indefinitely and are a symbol of class.

Diamonds are also the most popular gemstone used for engagement rings. This stunning stone has represented love for centuries.

Conscious Consumers Prefer Lab Diamonds

You don't want your beautiful diamond to have a shady past, do you? Unethical practices and dubious origins are not what this stone should represent. For this reason, lab grown diamonds are the future.

As consumer demands shift towards more transparent supply chains and the accountability of manufacturers, we need a change in the way goods are produced.

Innovative technologies that create lab-made diamonds can help us take much-needed steps towards a more sustainable and green future.

Rings for Longevity: The Best Types of Stones for Rings
Choosing the right types of stones for rings requires some insight into the hardness, meaning, and longevity of the types of stones you're considering.

Keyword(s): types of stones for rings

Rings are one of the most popular pieces of jewelry. Nearly everyone wears a ring at some point, whether to symbolize marriage or for personal style.

Moreover, rings are a highly personal jewelry piece. Lots of thought should go into choosing a ring for yourself or someone else.

With so many types of stones for rings, it's important to learn about the durability, longevity, and meaning behind each one.

Unsure of what this all means and don't know where to start? Read on to get a deeper understanding of gemstones so that you can confidently buy your next ring.

What Determines a Stone's Longevity?

Many factors play into a specific stone's longevity. These factors will determine the price of the ring as well as the life span of the jewelry.

The Moh's Scale of Hardness

The Moh's Scale ranks gemstone hardness from 1 (soft) to 10 (hard). A diamond, for example, is the hardest gemstone, so it ranks as a 10.

The hardness of a stone is a big factor in determining its durability. The harder a stone is, the less its susceptible to scratches and other damage.

For rings you plan to wear every day, it's best to get a hard stone so that it is less prone to wear and tear.

Refractive Index

The refractive index gives insight into the brilliance of the stone. In short, it is the number of times light is reflected in the stone.

If you want your ring to be bright and reflective, you will, in most cases, want a stone with a high RI.

The Famous 4 Cs of Gemstones

Everyone has heard of the 4Cs when it comes to buying diamonds, but the same principles apply to all gemstones.

  1. Cut: When talking about stone cuts for rings, referencing the reflective qualities and dimensions of the stone, not the shape of the gem
  2. Clarity: Is the gem clear and free of any blemishes?
  3. Carat: Carats refer to the stone's weight
  4. Color: Know that some types of stones come in multiple colors and not just the obvious ones

Now that you know some of the technical terms when talking about gemstones for rings, now it's time to look at some examples of popular gemstones.

9 Types of Stones for Rings

There are many gemstones to choose from when picking out a ring. Each stone holds a different meaning, and some gems are more durable than others. Here are 9 common types of stones for rings:

1. Diamond

The Diamond is classic, hence why many choose diamonds for engagement or wedding rings. Diamonds are the hardest gemstone, making them extremely durable and long-lasting.

2. Emerald

Emerald gemstones are packed with meaning; they symbolize successful love and the rebirthing that comes in springtime. They are also the birthstone for the month of May.

Emerald gemstones are slightly softer than diamonds, so rings with the stone should be taken off before any activities that could cause scratches.

3. Ruby

The deep, luscious red of the Ruby gemstone symbolizes passion. Additionally, Ruby is the birthstone of July.

As for its durability, it rates around a 9, meaning that its hardness is near a diamond. It's safe to wear daily.

4. Sapphire

The sapphire stone is typically a deep, rich blue color but can also come in other colors like pink and violet. It is the birthstone for September and signifies wisdom.

Similar to Rubies, it is a hard stone and extremely durable.

5. Tanzanite

The tanzanite stone is rare as it is only found in Tanzania. Tanzanite stones range in color; some hold more purple hues while others are bluer. No matter the tone, the beautiful stone, many believe the stone has calming qualities.

The December birthstone is softer, as it around a 6 on the Mohs scale. Because of this, wearers should be careful when wearing the ring daily as it can be easily scratched.

6. Pearl

Pearls are timeless. Unlike all other gems, they are created in a living creature. The pearl symbolizes purity and is the birthstone for the month of June.

Pearls come in at a low 2.5 on the Moh's scale, meaning they are very soft. To protect pearl jewelry, users should store pieces away from other jewelry that could damage the pearls. More so, pearls aren't mean to be an everyday jewelry piece but rather saved for special occasions.

7. Morganite

The Morganite stone ranges from pale pink to peach tones, making it great to pair with a rose gold or silver band.

Morganite gemstones have grown in popularity over the years as a replacement for diamonds in engagement rings. In addition to the beautiful pink color, the stone is fit for everyday wear, falling at a 7.5-8 on the Moh's scale.

8. Amethyst

For purple lovers (and those born in February), amethyst is the perfect stone for a ring. Amethyst hues vary from lavender to darker purples.

As for its durability, the amethyst is like the emerald, as it can be worn daily if the user is careful.

9. Turquoise

The Turquoise gemstone is unique, as it is opaque in nature. The blue-green hue of turquoise has decorated jewelry for centuries.

However, turquoise ranks around a 5 on the Mohs scale, as it is a softer stone. Because of this, turquoise makes for great statement rings as opposed to rings worn every day.

Choosing the Best Gemstone for You

When choosing a gemstone for a ring, consider first how much the jewelry piece will be worn and what (if any) meaning do you want the piece to hold.

With so many types of stones for rings to choose from, there is bound to be a perfect gemstone that fits your needs and personal style.

A Perfect Fit: How to Measure Your Ring Size

New to ring shopping and wearing jewelry? This guide shares everything you need to know about measuring your ring size to get the perfect fit.

Keyword(s): ring size

Looking to get a ring for yourself or a partner?

Before choosing bands and other ring elements, you need to know your ring size. This is often the first problem that people encounter when choosing a ring for someone else. Knowing your partner's ring size is essential if you're planning the perfect proposal.

Even if you're only buying a ring for yourself, knowing your ring size crucial. You don't want to lose your ring down the drain or have it cut off circulation. If you're not sure how to measure ring size, don't worry!

We got you with this guide on how to measure your ring size. Read on to discover some tips on measuring ring size.

Things to Consider When Measuring Ring Size

There are many environmental factors that can affect your ring size. Your diet and current temperature in your environment can affect your results. Other personal factors, like lifestyles and pregnancy, may also come into play.

Here are some of the things you need to consider when measuring your ring size.

Finger Shape

The size and fit of your ring may depend on the shape of your finger. Your ring may fit the tightest around the base if you have a tapered finger shape. If they slide up, they can fall off with ease.

This means that tapered fingers need rings with a snug fit. If you have a knotted finger, your finger may be tighter around the middle knuckle. You may need to get sizing beads so that the ring stays snug around your finger.

These are add-ons that you put at the bottom of your ring. They help to keep your ring in place and are easy to remove.

Band Width

Experts state that rings with thinner bands tend to be too big. Rings with thicker bands can have a more snug fit. More metal will take up more space around your finger.

This is why rings of the same size may not fit the same if they have different thicknesses. If you're looking for a daintier ring band, you may need a smaller ring size.

International Ring Size

Sizes may range between 3 and 13 if you're in the US or Canada. These sizes already come with half and quarter sizes. However, depending on where you are, your country might have a different sizing system.

Numbered sizes may vary as different countries use different scaled. The UK and Australia use an alphabetical letter system when sizing their rings.

How to Measure Your Ring Size

If you're planning to surprise someone with a ring, it can be difficult to guess their ring size. Women's ring sizes range between size 3 and 9. On average, the most purchased ring size is between size 5 and size 7.

Size 6 is the most common ring size for women. If you're looking for a ring size for men, this ranges between size 6 and 13. Size 9 is the most popular ring size for men within the average of size 8 to 10 and 1/2.

Here are some ways to measure your ring size:

Paper, String, and Ruler

Start by gathering string or paper and a ruler. Using either a strip of paper or string, wrap it around the base of your finger. Use a pen to mark where the end meets your string or paper.

Using the millimeter side of the ruler, measure the string or paper. Use a ring size chart to determine the closest measurement of your finger. If you have a knotted finger, measure both your knuckle and the base of your finger.

After finding the measurement of both, determine the size that sits between them. Take note that the fingers on your dominant hand are larger.

Using a Different Ring

If you already have a ring that fits you well, you can use this as a guide. You can use a ruler to determine the diameter of the ring. Place a ring you own that already fits you and hold it against a ruler.

With the ruler, take note of the measurement of the ring's inner diameter. Use a ring sizing guide to find the matching diameter. This is a great way to guess a ring size if you're getting a ring for someone else.

Guessing a Ring Size

It's a modern practice to involve your partner if you're planning to get an engagement ring. However, many couples would still like to maintain a surprise before they propose. One of the best ways to get a partner's ring size is by asking their friends.

Taking a ring that your partner already own may not always be accurate. Not many people wear rings on their left ring finger. This means that the sizing could be off even if you get a sample ring size.

If you're still not sure, it's best to get an oversized ring. It's better to get a ring that can fit your partner's finger during the proposal. You can get this resized later on.

Resizing a Ring

If you ever get the wrong ring size, you may always consult a jeweler for help. A jeweler can resize engagement rings in at least two sizes, either up or down. However, resizing more than this could impact the ring's integrity.

If you size down too low or up too high, you may need to get a custom band. If you don't know someone's exact ring size, avoid getting an eternity band. These wedding ring bands have diamonds all over them.

This means that this type of ring can be harder to resize. A jeweler can only resize this a quarter size down or up.

How Do You Measure Your Ring Size Correctly?

Are you wondering how do you measure your ring size? If yes, check out our informative guide!

Keyword(s): how do you measure your ring size

How do you measure your ring size?

If you're tired of buying rings that fall off your finger whenever you move too fast or, even worse, don't fit at all, there are a few simple tricks that'll help you find the right size for your finger. The entire sizing process will only take a few minutes.

Since guessing is never a good idea, we've put together this guide to show you how to figure out your ring size. Make sure you keep reading below to learn the best way to measure your finger.

Before you measure your finger, there are a few things you should keep in mind about figuring out your proper ring size.

Do It Multiple Times

First of all, you should never measure your finger just once. Double, triple, quadruple check! It's easy to make a mistake or read the measurement wrong, which means you'll end up with a ring that doesn't fit right.

It's also a good idea to measure your finger during different times of the day.

For example, your finger might be a slightly different size on a cold morning as it is on a warm afternoon. Your fingers tend to retain more water when you're hot or when you first wake up, and they dispel this extra water when they're cold.

Measuring your fingers at different times will ensure you get the most accurate size.

Don't Forget About Your Knuckle

It's easy to measure the bottom of your finger and overlook your knuckle, which is often larger than your finger. Most of the time, though, your knuckle should cause a problem.

However, if your knuckles are larger than average, you may not be able to slide your ring over them—even if it's the right size. Because of this, you should buy a ring that's half a size larger than your proper size to ensure you can get it on and off.

Remember, most people won't have to worry about this. But it is something you should keep in mind if you have big knuckles.

How Do You Measure Your Ring Sizes? The Tricks of the Trade

Three are a few different ways you can measure your ring size, and you probably have everything you need in your house already.

Here are the best ways to get the most accurate measurements.

The String Method

Grab a piece of string (or dental floss if you don't have any string), and wrap it around the base of your finger. Mark where the string overlaps with itself and cut it to the right size.

Then take your string and measure it against a normal ruler.

Most rings are sized using millimeters. So make sure you get the measurement in millimeters

Don't pull the right too right around your finger as you're measuring. Otherwise, the ring won't fit when you buy it. On the other hand, you don't want the string to feel too loose either.

Keep the string touching your skin, but make sure the touch is comfortable and gentle.

Size a Ring You Already Have

If you already have a ring that fits your finger, you can use this to figure out what size you are.

Go online and search for a ring size chart. You should then be able to print this out on a piece of paper and compare your ring to the different sizes on the chart.

However, make sure the chart you find is true-to-size. Otherwise, this method won't be of much help.

Once you have your chart printed out, compare your ring to the different sizes on the paper. Keep going until you find the size that matches your ring perfectly.

Buy a Ring Sizer

This method will cost you a few bucks, but it's one of the best ways to find your ring size.

You can adjust a ring sizer to the perfect fit on your finger, and since these tools are often made of plastic, you can practice pulling it on and off to make sure it gets over your knuckle.

This is a helpful tool to have if you want an accurate measurement, such as for an engagement ring. It's also a good idea to have a ring sizer if you want to find the ring size for each of your fingers (they'll all be different sizes).

If you don't want to spend any money, you may still be able to find a ring sizer online. You can print it out on a piece of paper and use that to measure your fingers instead.

Keep in mind, though, that a paper ring sizer won't be as helpful as a normal ring sizer. But it can help you save some change if you're on a tight budget.

How to Figure out Your Ring Size

So how do you measure your ring size?

There are several different ways to find the right ring size for your finger. You can do this yourself at home with a piece of string or invest in a ring sizing tool.

If you don't trust yourself to get an accurate measurement, you can also visit a jewelry store. A professional will be able to measure your finger and tell you the best size for you.

Now that you know your ring size, you need to find some beautiful jewelry to wear. Make sure you take a look at some of the rings in our collection!

How to Shop for the Right Ring

Your first step when ring shopping is to think about who it is you are buying the ring for. The ring should compliment him or her and fit his or her taste over your own. This is true whether it's an engagement ring, promise ring, or even a just-because ring.

Here are some basic things to consider when ring shopping for someone else.

  • The type of metal
  • The type of stone
  • The ring setting

Remember that these are just a few factors to take into consideration to help get you started in the process. Try to pay attention to all the small details when selecting the right ring and take a look at our favorite picks.

The Baltic Amber Collection

The Baltic Amber Collection has several different rings that all hold an Amber stone in the center. The Amber gemstone is a great pick for someone who loves the warm and earthy feel that this stone gives. Each stone has its own unique details, which makes for a special gift.

Here are our two favorite rings from this collection.

1. Teardrop Honey Amber

The Teardrop Honey Amber Ring is an adjustable ring with a teardrop-shaped amber stone in the center. It's centered in filigreed sterling silver. The sterling silver design details at the top and bottom of the stone are beautiful, adding to the design.

Other than a smallholding on the top and bottom of the stone, the stone is left untouched by the sterling silver, giving it a free-standing look as it rests on the finger.

2. Honey Amber Rose

The Honey Amber Rose Ring is a magnificent piece as a small, round amber stone rests in the center of a sterling silver rose. You won't find many pieces like this one as the amber stone acts as the colorful center of the flower. The sterling silver pedals have a texture to them that makes them look real.

The ring is an overall stunning piece for anyone who loves roses or flowers in general.

David Beck Bali

The David Beck Bali Collection is made up of bold statement rings. These rings are sterling silver with a few gold touches on some options. Some of these rings have stones while others do not, but all have exquisite details in the sterling silver.

Here are our two favorite rings from this collection.

3. Freshwater Pearl Bali

If he or she doesn't already have a set of pearls, then this is the perfect piece to start a pearl collection. The Freshwater Pearl Bali Ring features a marvelous pearl in the center of a Balinese sterling silver setting.

The details in the sterling silver on the side of the ring are stunning and compliment the peal perfectly.

4. Bali Square Sterling Silver

The Bali Square Sterling Silver Amethyst Ring with gold detail has some of the most amazing details displayed throughout the entire setting. The amethyst stone sits in the center of the ring, surrounded by gold balls with small silver mimics between. The rest of the ring is sterling silver with hearts and other designs.

Roman Glass

The Roman Glass Collection has several elegant pieces. Many feature turquoise stones on the rings, creating the glass elements. If turquoise is a favorite of the person you're buying for, then the Roman Glass Collection is your best bet.

Find Your Perfect Match: Comparing the Different Types of Rings
Are you in the market for a new ring? Find your perfect accessory by studying and comparing the different types of rings.

Keyword(s): types of rings

You don’t need a special occasion to buy a ring for yourself or somebody else. You can buy one because you think it will match a cute outfit that you bought recently or if you want to show off at a family dinner party. There is never a bad time for one.

When you visit the jewelry store you will notice that there are a lot of different types of rings in the display cases. Does it matter which one you buy?

It does. Each ring in those cases has a meaning and suits a different need. To help you pick one out that you or a loved one will enjoy, here is your guide to all things bands and rings.

1. Dome Ring

When you drop money on a ring you want to be able to wear it anywhere. A dome ring is that ring. It works for a night out on the town or at work.

It's chunky and raises slightly off the finger so it draws the eye. You can get one with some details and gems but for the most part, they have a smooth surface.

2. Band

Bands are sort of self-explanatory. It's a band made out of some kind of precious metal be it silver or gold. They are about the same width all the way around the ring.

It's got no obvious top but that doesn't mean they can't be engraved or that they won't contain any type of gemstones at all.

3. Birthstone Ring

Birthstone rings contain gems that are associated with the month that you were born. January is garnet, February is amethyst, March is aquamarine and so on and so forth.

Picking one up makes for a great personalized gift for yourself or a loved one. Some even associate wearing one with good luck and fortune. They are also thought to keep bad energy away.

4. Tungsten Ring

Tungsten rings are becoming an ideal wedding ring choice for men but they are perfect for anyone. They look gorgeous and the material is harder than most others so it doesn't scratch or damage easy. They also don't fade so you won't have to worry about your ring looking dingy a few years after you get it.

If your skin is sensitive to metals then you can rest easy knowing that tungsten won't break you out. The best part of all, you can get these rings for pretty cheap.

5. Knot Ring

There is a lot of symbolism that goes into a knot ring. One of the more popular takes is that it creates a connection between two lovers. This more commonly known as a lover's knot.

The knot ring can also be a symbol of friendship. For example, it can be used as a promise ring. Promise rings can be given as an act of love or friendship. In the case of friends, the knot would be considered something to tie your friendship together.

6. Contemporary Ring

A contemporary ring is simply a ring that embodies styles that are from the jewelry industry right this second. This contemporary status can be determined by the ring's cut, the materials used when making it, it's setting, or its design.

This may be better explained with an example or two. A ring that has a princess style cut stone rather than a traditional round one would be more contemporary. A ring that uses an illusion or tension setting would be more contemporary than one that uses prongs.

7. Teardrop Ring

Wearing a teardrop ring brings a modern feel to a classic vintage look. This style has been around for centuries and it's still going strong. There are a lot of benefits to going with this cut vs. a round diamond.

For one, you can get a teardrop ring that has the same cut, clarity, color, and carat weight as a round diamond and the teardrop will be cheaper. This is because demand is much higher for a round-shaped diamond.

As far as aesthetics go, due to how they are cut, teardrop stones are more brilliant than regular round stones. The shape of the ring makes your finger look longer and creates a nice line. This ring style makes the perfect engagement ring or if you're buying for you, it's a nice treat.

8. Abalone Ring

The abalone shell is found in a variety of cultures all over the world and has a unique name in each one. The different names aren't the only thing that makes them unique. No matter how many rings you have made with this gem, none of them will look the same.

Speaking of appearances, the colors in one of these rings are quite vibrant. When you hold it up to the light you'll be able to see a variety of them from turquoise to rose pink.

In many cultures, they are used for spiritual purposes. Some use them for cleansing rituals. They are thought to calm the user and are also a symbol of fertility and motherhood to some.

Additionally, picking timeless, luxurious, quality pieces is essential when gifting jewelry. Sticking with a silver or gold-toned color palette is the way to go.

1. Everyday Earrings

Coming in at the top of our jewelry gift ideas is earrings. Everyone needs a great pair of everyday earrings. If someone in your life is lacking basic, classic earrings, don't hesitate to get them this gift! They will definitely get some use out of them.

It's best to stick to classic studs, such as small diamond, crystal, or pearl studs, or simple teardrop earrings. Getting the color right for this pair is extremely important.

If you're unsure as to whether to go for gold or silver, check out this helpful article. It will help you make sure the earrings you pick complement his or her complexion perfectly!

They can be easily layered with other pieces and tend to add the perfect amount of class to any plain outfit. They elongate the neck and torso and can make you look polished, yet relaxed.

A long necklace is a great gift for anyone in your life, old or young!

3. A Cuff Bracelet

If you want to get your loved one a bracelet but are unsure as to what size bangle they would wear, stick to open cuff bracelets! They are incredibly trendy at the moment, and some very classy designs are on the market right now.

The open cuff design will make sure the bracelet fits whoever you gift it too! Once again, make sure you pick the right jewelry tone. You don't want these beautiful pieces to wash out your friends or family members.

4. The DIY Project

If you want to give someone a heartfelt, meaningful gift, try personalizing or making your own jewelry. Head on over to the craft store and make your loved one a stamped necklace or bracelet with their name on it, a bangle with their favorite quote or initials, or necklace with a locket containing a picture of you together.

There are so many DIY jewelry gift ideas, and the finished product doesn't have to be perfect or magazine-worthy. It just has to come from the heart.

5. A Piece of History

If you have a friend or family member who loves to connect with history and symbolism, there is not a gift more unique than a 2000-year-old Roman Glass

This is the perfect thoughtful gift for anyone special in your life.

How Unique Silver Jewelry Can Help You Stand Out
Are you looking for classy jewelry that's a bit different from what everyone else is wearing? Here are 8 pieces of unique silver jewelry to help you stand out.

Keyword(s): unique silver jewelry

First impressions matter. When people first meet you, they instantly make certain judgments about you, including your status, personality, and even orientation.

Your overall appearance can help form that image. If you want to get noticed, wearing unique silver jewelry can help you.

If it catches people's attention, they'll be likely to pay you compliments and ask questions about it, which means' they'll be more likely to remember you. This can often be a way to start friendships.

In this article, we'll show you eight pieces of jewelry that are like nothing else you've ever seen.

Our Favorite Pieces of Unique Silver Jewelry

These pieces can't be found in just any old store. Add some of these to your outfits for a look that's your own.

1. Mystic Quartz Earrings

Mystic quartz is a stunning gem because it creates colors that no other precious stone can. Its gorgeous, kaleidoscopic appearance has been likened to oil on water.

No matter how you wear it, it's sure to turn heads, but we recommend a pair of sterling silver mystic quartz earrings. They're overlaid with rhodium, which means they have an even richer color.

When these earrings catch the light, they'll reflect shades of green, blue, and pink, changing every time you move. Show them off by wearing them with your hair in an updo, and you're sure to turn heads.

2. An Amber Necklace

Amber is interesting because of its rich history. It takes millions of years just to create one piece of amber, and it's formation has resulted in the discovery of several extinct species.

As well as being fun to learn about, it's also beautiful to look at. That's why it's such a popular gem for unique silver jewelry. One such piece is our tassel style honey amber necklace.

A lot of amber jewelry is rather chunky, but this piece has a more subtle appearance. Three leaf-shaped gems dangle from a delicate silver snake chain, like feathers hanging from a dreamcatcher.

If you really like it, you could even combine it with a pair of matching earrings.

3. A Marcasite Bracelet

Marcasite was Queen Victoria's gemstone of choice when she was in periods of mourning. During her reign, it became popular for elegant silver pieces that could be combined with pearls.

One piece that embodies this combination is our marcasite and mother of pearl flower bracelet.

The UK isn't the only place that marcasite has a history in. It's also been seen in Incan temples, and in ancient Greece, too.

Whether you want to give its admirers a history lesson or not, you can really make a statement with marcasite jewelry.

4. A Laurel Leaf Ring

You can never have enough rings, and our Laurel Leaf ring would make a beautiful addition to any collection.

This delicately-crafted piece consists of a thin band with detailed leaves to decorate your digits. It would make a suitable gift for a nature lover, but anyone can rock it. Layer it up with some other rings for a boho-chic look.

5. A Kaleidoscope Necklace

Our kaleidoscope necklace is made of ancient Roman glass. At 2.5 inches in diameter, it's certainly a statement piece.

The glass used in this necklace is 2000 years old and has been excavated from Israel to be set in fine sterling silver. Pieces like this one are commonly kept as heirlooms.

Add this to your outfit, and you'll be sure to receive lots of compliments. There's no way this pendant can go unnoticed.

6. A Balinese Pendant

Balinese jewelry is like no other type of silver jewelry in the world. It generally doesn't contain gemstones, but it doesn't need to. Its unique style of craftsmanship is intricate, eye-catching, and instantly recognizable.

Bali is home to some of the best silversmiths in the world, so we couldn't go without mentioning some jewelry from this little island. This kind of jewelry is often inspired by Earth and nature, which is part of what makes it so beautiful.

Instead of engraving silver, Balinese jewelers traditionally use techniques like filigree. This involves using beads soldered together with threads of metal to create patterns.

This can be seen in our favorite Balinese piece, which is the David Beck Filigree Pendant. It has filigree detail on the front and back, crafted to imitate the appearance of bamboo.

7. Pearl Earrings

Pearl earrings are a classic, and many say that every woman should own a pair. For that reason, they're not the first thing that springs to mind when you think of unique silver jewelry.

Pearl earrings may not sound unique, but if you pick the right pair, they can be the perfect mixture of vintage class and individuality. Our branched dangle earrings are just that.

Each earring combines two 1-inch pearls with swooping silver curves. From afar, they give the appearance of dewdrops balancing delicately from tree branches. It's a modern take on a classic and can be paired with almost any outfit.

If plain old pearls aren't quite enough for you, you may love these.

8. A Green Amber Leaf Pendant

We've already spoken about how great amber jewelry can be, but the last piece of unique silver jewelry on our list takes the cake. It's a green amber pendant with leaf detail.

It consists of an oval-shaped deep green piece of Baltic amber, set in tiny silver leaves. Together, they hang from a chain with a delicate clasp.

The outer edges of the amber used in this piece are very dark green, but towards the center, there are alluring flickers of lighter shades.

Stay Shining

Once you've decided which gorgeous pieces of jewelry to purchase, you'll have to make sure you take good care it. That way, it will remain just as stunning for years to come.

If you don't follow the proper care instructions, silver jewelry can become dull and dark. Polish it regularly with a special cloth, and if that's not enough, use cleaning solutions.
